Lead the charge remotely in cloud innovation and compliance—join our client as Manager of Software Applications & Engineering!

R&D Partners is seeking a Manager of Software Applications and Engineering to join a fully remote team supporting a US-based company on a 6-Month Contract. In this role, you will oversee the development, deployment, and maintenance of software applications while ensuring compliance with global regulatory standards. You will work closely with users, medical writers, regulatory specialists, and engineers to process sensitive clinical and regulatory documents for public disclosure, ensuring data privacy, quality, and compliance.

This is a fully remote role open to candidates based anywhere in Europe.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage and enhance software applications, including web-based tools and cloud platforms.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues with document processing tools and workflows.
  • Ensure clinical and regulatory documents meet global transparency and privacy standards.
  • Use OCR tools to improve document accuracy and quality.
  • Define and maintain rules for identifying sensitive information in documents.
  • Perform quality checks on documents to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Collaborate with compliance, regulatory, and IT teams to meet data protection standards.
  • Stay updated on global transparency regulations and provide training and guidance.
  • Deploy, configure, and manage Azure resources, including Web Apps, Virtual Machines, and SQL Databases.
  • Automate application deployment and monitor performance using Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions.
  • Troubleshoot and optimize cloud-based systems for scalability and security.

Key Skills and Requirements:

  • Experience with software applications, SaaS platforms, and cloud technologies like Azure.
  • Knowledge of OCR tools, text processing, and document quality assurance.
  • Familiarity with global privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR, EMA Policy 0070, Health Canada PRCI).
  • Understanding of clinical and regulatory documents and anonymization practices.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to non-technical users.
  • Experience with automation tools, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud architecture.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and familiarity with ISO standards, FDA, and GCP requirements.
  • Organized, adaptable, and able to create user-friendly documentation and training materials.
