Delivering hard-to-find ATMP expertise in the UK

The situation 

Our long-standing client, a small company specialising in Advanced Therapy Medicinal Products (ATMPs), needed to recruit a new Regulatory Affairs Manager to join their team. The ATMP sector is highly competitive in the UK, with a limited pool of experienced candidates compared to the broader pharmaceutical industry. In fact, the client had already attempted to fill the role through in-house advertising and other recruitment agencies but had struggled to identify individuals with the necessary gene and cell therapy expertise. 

The solution 

We worked closely with the company to identify the key skills required for the position and supported them in developing a suitable offer by providing data on current market salaries. We then formulated a comprehensive recruitment strategy designed to attract high-quality candidates within a relatively short timeframe. 

One of our experts, specialising in the Regulatory Affairs market, conducted thorough research into comparable ATMP companies and identified potential candidates working within them. We also consulted individuals within our extensive network in the biologics sector, who were able to recommend professionals suitable for the role. Additionally, we used industry publications, such as Regulatory Rapporteur, to identify successful individuals within the ATMP field. 

Using the detailed specification developed in collaboration with our client, our team compiled a shortlist of 15 individuals, who were then contacted at their workplaces. We successfully generated interest from several of the shortlisted candidates and submitted them for interviews with the client. 

The result 

  • We used our headhunting expertise and extensive industry network to source several suitable candidates well within the given timeframe. 
  • After providing a strong shortlist, we successfully placed one of these individuals, who happily accepted the offer. 
  • We received excellent feedback from the client, who was highly impressed with our diligent and thoughtful approach.
