External Buyer

R&D Partners is seeking an experienced External Buyer to join a leading pharmaceutical company for a 12-month contract position. This role focuses on strategic procurement and supply chain management within the context of construction, plant, or equipment projects.

Please note that to be considered for this role you must have the right to work in this location.

Responsibilities:

• Procurement Strategy Development: Plan and implement effective sourcing strategies for Project F5 materials and services.
• Supplier Management: Select and negotiate with suppliers to ensure optimal conditions, quality, and compliance.
• Claim Management: Address changes in project scope and manage claims effectively.
• Cost Control: Monitor expenditures to meet budget requirements and identify cost-saving opportunities.
• Financial Closing: Ensure proper financial closure at the end of the project.
• Risk Management: Identify potential risks in the supply chain and develop mitigation strategies.

Key Skills and Requirements:

• Degree in engineering (e.g., civil engineering, industrial engineering, business administration) or comparable qualification preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in strategic or project-related purchasing, ideally in construction, plant, or equipment projects.
• Strong knowledge of contract and claim management.
• Excellent negotiation and assertiveness skills with a focus on cost and quality awareness.
• Experience managing complex stakeholder structures, project management, and external planners.
• Structured, independent, and solution-oriented approach, even under time and project pressure.
• Intercultural competence and professional demeanor when interacting with international suppliers and internal customers.
• Business fluency in German and English (written and spoken).
• Experience in regulated environments such as pharmaceuticals, GMP, or life sciences is advantageous.
