Description

Drive breakthrough genome engineering innovations at a leading Swedish biotech shaping the future of therapeutic development.

R&D Partners is seeking a highly skilled and motivated professional to join a leading biotechnology company in Sweden. This is a laboratory-based role where you will leverage your expertise in genome engineering and innovative thinking to develop novel tools and applications that can lead to breakthrough therapies.

Please note that to be considered for this role you must have the right to work in this location.

Responsibilities:

  • Establish and maintain disease cell models using immortalized or iPSC cell lines.
  • Develop and run cellular and biochemical assays to evaluate the efficacy of therapeutic genome editing approaches in disease models.
  • Optimize genome engineering technologies to facilitate effective gene editing in target cells or tissue types.
  • Analyze gene editing outcomes and document, interpret, and communicate results to stakeholders and partners.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional project teams to develop and evaluate genome editing strategies for specific disease projects.

Key Skills and Requirements:

Essential:

  • PhD in molecular cell biology or related fields with strong wet-lab skills, or MSc with equivalent experience.
  • Experience handling and differentiating iPSCs into various cell types (e.g., liver, heart).
  • Proven track record of establishing high-quality cellular assays (e.g., viability, metabolic activity, protein quantification, flow cytometry, microscopy).
  • Strong communication skills, scientific rigor, and ethics, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.

Desirable:

  • Experience in metabolism research.
  • Hands-on experience with CRISPR-Cas9 technologies.
  • Proficiency in standard molecular biology techniques for protein quantification (e.g., Western blot, ELISA) or measuring protein activity.
  • Experience working with lentiviral vectors for engineering cell models.
