Description

Drive the design of transformative gene‑editing strategies as a Senior Research Scientist pioneering breakthrough therapies in Sweden.

R&D Partners is seeking a Senior Research Scientist – Genome Engineering to join a leading biotechnology company in Sweden. This is a laboratory-based role where you will leverage your expertise in genome engineering to develop innovative tools and applications that can lead to breakthrough therapies.

As a key member of cross-functional project teams, you will design and evaluate therapeutic genome editing strategies, optimize genome engineering technologies, and develop assays to analyze gene editing outcomes.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and evaluate therapeutic genome editing strategies for specific disease indications.
  • Optimize genome engineering technologies to enable effective gene editing in target cells or tissue types.
  • Develop and routinely run assays to evaluate gene editing outcomes.
  • Document, interpret, and communicate results to stakeholders and partners.

Key Skills and Requirements

Essential:

  • PhD in life sciences or relevant areas with strong wet-lab skills, or MSc with equivalent experience.
  • Expertise in working with mammalian cell models (immortalized or primary).
  • Hands-on experience with CRISPR-Cas9 technologies.
  • Proficiency in standard molecular biology techniques, including:
  • PCR, sequencing technologies, RNA extraction, qPCR, Western blot, ELISA.
  • Strong communication skills, scientific rigor, and ethics.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team.

Desirable:

  • Experience with lentiviral vectors for engineering cell models.
  • Familiarity with liquid handling instruments.
  • Expertise in optimizing genome editing technologies, construct design, gRNA optimization, delivery, or protein engineering.
