Senior Scientist in Biochemical Assay Development

Lead cutting‑edge biochemical assay development and shape the next generation of drug discovery.

R&D Partners is seeking a Senior Scientist in Biochemical Assay Development to join a dynamic team in SE. This role focuses on advancing drug discovery projects through expertise in mass spectrometry and biochemical assay development.

Please note that to be considered for this role you must have the right to work in this location.

Responsibilities:

• Independently design, develop, and validate biochemical assays for drug discovery projects.
• Lead from the bench, applying expertise in mass spectrometry, particularly for small molecules and peptides.
• Develop and optimize internal mass spectrometry capabilities, including novel applications for screening and mechanism of action profiling.
• Collaborate effectively across disciplines, cultures, and areas of expertise.

Key Skills and Requirements:

Essential:

• PhD in Biology, Pharmacology, Biochemistry, or related discipline; or MSc with significant relevant experience.
• Expertise in mass spectrometry, particularly for enzymatic reaction detection.
• Practical understanding of various biochemical assay methods and technologies, including fluorescence and luminescence techniques.
• Strong problem-solving skills, scientific judgment, and communication abilities.
• Proven ability to work collaboratively within diverse teams.

Desirable:

• Experience in assay optimization using statistical tools like factorial experimental design.
• Background in external collaborations.
