Description

Support global payroll accuracy and compliance across a truly international finance function.

R&D Partners is seeking an Accountant – I to support the Global Financial Solutions (GFS) Payroll team and Finance teams. The ideal candidate will play a key role in preparing transactional and accrual journal entries, reconciling payroll-related GL accounts, performing payroll data audits, and contributing to various projects. This role reports to the Payroll Accounting Manager and involves working within a global finance function that manages payrolls across 45 countries in EMEA, APAC, LATAM, and Canada regions.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform month-end and year-end close activities, including preparation of payroll-related journals, accruals, and adjustments.
  • Prepare and review reconciliations for payroll-related balance sheet accounts, ensuring timely resolution of open items.
  • Manage hypo tax accruals and reconciliations.
  • Support budget preparation and actively manage payroll purchase orders (PO).
  • Partner with mobility teams on hypo tax for mobile employees.
  • Collaborate with RTR accountants and finance teams to address payroll accounting queries.
  • Assist Payroll Specialists with month-, quarter-, and year-end activities.
  • Interact with internal and external auditors, providing accurate data for audits.
  • Lead and support balance sheet reviews and SOX controls.
  • Recommend and implement process improvements and enhancements.
  • Create and update standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Support ad-hoc finance-related projects and systems testing.
  • Work with payroll providers to map new elements to GL and understand payroll report linkages.
  • Provide monthly updates to the management team.

Key Skills and Requirements:

  • Qualified Accountant or equivalent accountancy qualification.
  • Proven experience in Accounting, Finance, or Payroll roles within a multi-country, multinational corporation.
  • Strong working knowledge of SAP.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Solid organizational skills with attention to detail and multitasking abilities.
  • Ability to work effectively in a multi-functional, multi-cultural environment.
  • Experience handling complexity and ambiguity in a global finance function.
  • Customer service-oriented mindset with a focus on exceeding expectations.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field or equivalent work experience.
