Description

Are you ready to make a groundbreaking impact in the world of biotechnology? Join a growing company that’s shaping the future of healthcare and science.

R&D Partners is seeking an Analytical Scientist II to join a growing team focused on advancing cell and gene therapy bioprocessing. In this role, you will contribute to the development of innovative biopolymers and cutting-edge analytical tools that are shaping the future of advanced therapies. You’ll work in a collaborative lab environment, focusing on designing, executing, and interpreting experiments using affinity-based analytical methods like Bio-Layer Interferometry (BLI) and Surface Plasmon Resonance (SPR). This position offers the opportunity to play a key role in method development, optimization, and validation across interdisciplinary projects.

Please note that to be considered for this role you must have the right to work in this location.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform experiments to measure binding interactions using BLI and SPR techniques.
  • Develop, optimize, and troubleshoot analytical methods to support research and development programs.
  • Act as a subject matter expert for BLI and SPR, providing guidance and best practices to the team.
  • Support broader analytical activities, including characterizing polymers and biomolecules using additional techniques.
  • Analyze data, document findings, and maintain high scientific standards.
  • Plan and execute experiments while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Prepare technical reports, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and work instructions.
  • Assist in transferring methods to manufacturing or quality control functions.
  • Maintain laboratory equipment and ensure compliance with safety and documentation standards.
  • Contribute to innovation through new method development, automation, and digitalization initiatives.

Key Skills and Requirements:

  • Background in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Bioengineering, or a related field.
  • Hands-on experience with affinity-based analytical tools such as BLI, SPR, or similar platforms.
  • Ability to independently design experiments, analyze data, and present findings clearly.
  • Strong communication skills and proficiency in standard software tools.
  • Knowledge of laboratory safety and documentation standards.
  • Experience with Octet or Biacore systems, particularly in biologics or cell and gene therapy applications.
  • Familiarity with polymer analysis or biomolecular interaction characterization.
  • Understanding of regulated environments like ISO13485 or GMP.
  • Exposure to complementary biophysical methods such as Flow Induced Dispersion Analysis (FIDA).
