Lead the journey from cell culture innovation to GMP‑ready manufacturing.

R&D Partners is seeking a Cell Culture (USP) – Lead Scientist to join a leading biotechnology company in South Korea. This role focuses on upstream process (USP) development and tech transfer activities, ensuring successful scale-up into manufacturing.

Please note that to be considered for this role you must have the right to work in this location.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead USP tech transfer activities, including new product introduction (NPI), process validation, and continued process verification (CPV).
  • Generate and maintain GMP-compliant documentation for USP manufacturing tech transfer, including PCS, QRA, MBR, SOPs, and more.
  • Conduct risk assessments for cell culture processes and support troubleshooting for at-scale manufacturing in collaboration with clients.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Manufacturing, Quality, Supply Chain Management (SCM), and other departments to ensure efficient tech transfer execution.
  • Represent the USP function during client project initiation plan (PIP) visits, support audit responses, and implement workflow improvements to enhance the tech transfer process.

Key Skills and Requirements:

  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in upstream process development and tech transfer within the biotechnology industry.
  • Strong expertise in GMP-compliant documentation and risk assessment for cell culture processes.
  • Proven ability to collaborate cross-functionally and manage client-facing responsibilities.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and experience in troubleshooting at-scale manufacturing processes.
