Creative Director

R&D Partners is supporting a fast‑growing life sciences consultancy as it expands its Market Access Communications division, offering a rare opportunity to help shape this capability from the ground up. Reporting directly to the President, you will play a key role in defining creative direction, setting operational standards, and contributing to the growth of a high‑performing team while remaining closely connected to hands‑on work.

In this role, you will lead creative across both market access and HCP communications-transforming complex clinical and economic information into clear, compelling visual narratives for audiences such as payers, health systems, procurement teams, P&T committees, and specialist physicians. Please note that this work focuses on value, evidence, and access rather than consumer advertising.

Day to day, you’ll:

• Set the creative direction and visual standards for the team
• Stay hands-on, creating and guiding work such as payer decks, access tools, reimbursement resources, and value-focused materials
• Help visualize HEOR, budget impact, and real-world data in a way that makes sense
• Oversee high-science HCP materials – visual aids, MOA storytelling, congress assets, disease education, and sales tools
• Make sure everything meets MLR and compliance standards
• Act as a senior creative partner to clients – presenting work and guiding feedback
• Build and mentor a growing creative team
• Oversee delivery across digital, CRM, print, presentations, and congress channels
• Support new business pitches and help grow the function
• Play a key role in shaping how the team works and collaborates

Ideally you will have:

• 8+ years of experience in creative roles, including at least 3 years in a senior or leadership capacity (prior agency and pharma experience strongly preferred)
• Strong portfolio showcasing conceptual thinking, brand development, and multichannel execution (digital, print, presentations, banners, emails, etc.)
• Experience building or leading teams in a startup or growing small agency environment
• Experience managing freelancers or vendors
• Familiarity with the market access space including key access trends and terminology

Compensation:

• This role offers a competitive base salary of $130,000 – $200,000 + 15% Bonus aligned to experience, with a performance-driven bonus structure designed to reward impact and results.
