Description

Ready to lead the digital transformation of cutting-edge pharmaceutical laboratories and help eliminate paper-based processes for good?

R&D Partners is seeking a Digitalisation Specialist to support the implementation and adoption of digital laboratory workflows at a leading pharmaceutical company in Waterford, Ireland. This role is part of the iCMC Digital Transformation initiative, focusing on the deployment of iLab BIOVIA Workbook Foundation, Unified Laboratory Module (ULM), and CisPro systems. The goal is to eliminate paper-based processes, reduce transcription errors, and enable a structured, data-driven workflow for Analytical Sciences (AS) and Manufacturing Sciences (MFS).

Please note that to be considered for this role you must have the right to work in this location.

Responsibilities:

Program Delivery and Roadmap:

  • Deliver the 2026-2027 roadmap for MFS and AS, from project implementation to user training and end-to-end transformation.
  • Track tasks, timelines, and milestones, and report progress to stakeholders.
  • Identify and mitigate roadblocks such as server performance, data import issues, PDF reporting, and equipment connectivity.

Equipment Management (ULM):

  • Register AS and MFS equipment to iLab via ULM.
  • Deploy basic and complex equipment integration, including Caducee integration.
  • Support calibration and data transfer workflows.

Sample and Material Management (CisPro):

  • Implement sample management and material-reagent inventory tracking for MFS and AS.
  • Ensure seamless linkage of samples, materials, and equipment to the Workbook to eliminate manual transcription.

Experiment Management and Templates:

  • Collaborate with SMEs in AS and MFS to design, build, and deploy custom Workbook templates.
  • Align data entry with equipment and material data, enabling raw data and Excel file integration into the Workbook.

Collaboration and Stakeholder Engagement:

  • Act as a liaison between AS, MFS, local IT, ITS Digital, Global IT, the Global Digitalisation team, Metrology, and HSE.
  • Engage with other sites (e.g., Geel) to learn from their experiences and apply best practices.

Training and Adoption:

  • Develop and deliver user training while gathering feedback to improve the user experience.
  • Advocate for transitioning from interim tools (e.g., Power Apps) to fully integrated iLab workflows.

Key Skills and Requirements:

Essential Qualifications and Experience:

  • Degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Engineering, or a related scientific/IT discipline.
  • Experience in a laboratory environment (analytical development, QC, or manufacturing-process sciences) within a regulated pharma or biotech setting.
  • Strong understanding of laboratory workflows, sample management, method execution, data review, and reporting.
  • Proven project management and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Excellent communication and training abilities, with the capacity to work across scientific and IT teams.

Key Competencies:

  • Effective communication across diverse teams and functions.
  • Digital mindset with a focus on data-driven solutions.
  • Problem-solving skills to address and overcome roadblocks.
  • Collaborative approach across sites and functions.
  • Adaptability to work within a phased, evolving program.
  • Attention to detail and compliance with regulatory standards.

Salary:

  • €20.00 – €30.00/Hour
