Lead global development programs that turn scientific innovation into transformative medicines for patients worldwide.

R&D Partners is seeking a Global Program Manager to join a leading pharmaceutical company. This role is pivotal in driving drug or disease area development programs to maximize efficiency, portfolio value, and patient benefit. The position reports to the Molecule Program Management (MPM) community within the Portfolio Strategy & Delivery (PSD) function of Pharma Product Development (PD).

The ideal candidate will contribute to the company’s bold ambition of delivering 20 transformative medicines by 2030, ensuring strategic program management and fostering collaboration across multiple therapeutic areas.

Responsibilities:

  • Act as a core member of molecule-disease area teams, driving drug or disease area development programs.
  • Provide strategic program management, framing and assessing options, identifying inflection points, and supporting decision-making and governance.
  • Guide molecule teams in collaboration with team leaders, ensuring alignment with objectives.
  • Build and maintain high-functioning project teams by fostering trust, addressing issues, and encouraging open dialogue.
  • Drive key program/project meetings, workshops, team communication, and documentation.
  • Contribute to functional or company-wide initiative workstreams.
  • Maintain program and project management guidelines, standards, and tools.
  • Identify and mitigate program risks while implementing and executing program strategies.
  • Support integrated evidence planning for sustainable patient access to medicines throughout the product lifecycle.

Key Skills and Requirements:

  • Proven experience in program/project management, change management, or business management methodologies.
  • Solid drug development and commercial experience with a track record of driving comprehensive program strategies.
  • Results-oriented mindset with the ability to thrive in ambiguous and collaborative environments.
  • Strong systems thinking, connecting the dots across projects and business landscapes.
  • Effective communicator with excellent influencing, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to build strong relationships and influence without authority at various organizational levels.
  • Expertise in translating project plans into actionable strategies and outcomes.
  • Familiarity with molecule development lifecycles, marketing applications, and transformational initiatives.
