About the Role

Join a leading pharmaceutical manufacturer and take ownership of critical GxP-regulated applications that enable life-saving science. As an IT Application Support Engineer, you will manage the full lifecycle of laboratory and enterprise systems, ensuring compliance, reliability, and continuous improvement. This is not a desktop support role-it’s a specialized position focused on pharma applications such as LIMS, ERP, TrackWise, and other validated systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Application Ownership & Lifecycle Management
    • Administer, configure, and maintain pharmaceutical applications (LIMS, ERP, CRM, TrackWise).
    • Implement patches, upgrades, and enhancements in collaboration with vendors and internal teams.
  • Compliance & Validation
    • Develop and execute validation protocols (IQ/OQ/PQ) for GxP systems.
    • Ensure adherence to FDA, GMP, and SOX requirements.
    • Prepare for audits and manage CAPAs.
  • Performance & Optimization
    • Monitor application performance and implement improvements.
    • Analyze usage trends and recommend enhancements.
  • Project Delivery
    • Lead application-related projects (implementations, migrations).
    • Gather requirements, coordinate vendors, and manage timelines.
  • User Support & Training
    • Provide Tier 2/3 support for application issues (not desktop).
    • Create SOPs, user guides, and deliver training sessions.
  • Data Integrity & Security
    • Maintain audit trails, backups, and disaster recovery plans.
    • Implement security protocols for sensitive data.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Education: Degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field.
  • Experience:
    • 3+ years in application support within a pharmaceutical or GxP environment.
    • Hands-on experience with LIMS, ERP, TrackWise, or similar regulated systems.
  • Technical Skills:
    • SQL, database management, scripting (PowerShell, Python preferred).
    • Familiarity with application servers, middleware, and integration tools.
  • Compliance Knowledge:
    • Strong understanding of GMP, FDA, and validation processes.
  • Soft Skills:
    • Excellent communication, vendor management, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Preferred Certifications: ITIL, CSV, or pharma-specific compliance certifications.
