Join a leading pharmaceutical company and play a pivotal role in advancing innovative, patient-centred nephrology and urology treatments.

R&D Partners is seeking a Medical Advisor to join a leading pharmaceutical company specializing in nephrology and urology. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to patient-focused medical strategies, innovative treatment approaches, and integrated health solutions. The position supports multi-modal treatment across all stages of disease, emphasizing prevention and care.

This full-time hybrid role is based in Hertfordshire, UK, with flexible working arrangements agreed upon with the Head of Medical Affairs. Applicants must be legally eligible to work in the UK.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the Medical Manager to deliver medical affairs projects aligned with medical and brand strategies.
  • Act as a medical lead within the nephrology and urology team across the brand team.
  • Provide medical input into strategic and review meetings, ensuring materials and activities are scientifically accurate, balanced, and compliant with the ABPI Code.
  • Develop, review, and maintain key medical affairs and medical information materials, including scientific narratives, response documents, slide decks, Q&As, and meeting materials.
  • Handle medical enquiries through approved channels, including adverse event and product complaint intake, and support compliant pharmacovigilance reporting.
  • Review and approve promotional and non-promotional materials as a certified Medical Signatory in line with the ABPI Code.
  • Critically evaluate medical literature, use customer insights, and identify emerging scientific developments to produce high-quality medical content.
  • Provide medical support to internal teams, including product and therapy area input, training, and guidance on processes, platforms, and compliance requirements.
  • Support medical affairs activities at congresses, product launches, educational events, and formulary or local healthcare economy applications.

Key Skills and Requirements:

  • Qualified pharmacist or doctor registered with the GPhC or GMC.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Understanding of the NHS and pharmaceutical industry.
  • Experience handling medical enquiries.
  • Experience searching and critically evaluating medical literature.
  • Comfortable using a range of digital and productivity tools.

What to Expect:

  • Build strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders across Medical Affairs and Medical Information.
  • Contribute to continuous process improvement and support team metrics in line with business priorities.
  • Occasional travel, including some weekend conference attendance, with approximately 10% travel required.
