Project Manager

R&D Partners is seeking a dedicated and experienced Project Manager to lead the establishment of a new Microbiology & Sterilization Center of Expertise (CoE). This role involves overseeing the setup of a state-of-the-art facility, including designing the space, installing and qualifying equipment, transferring testing methods, and ensuring operational readiness. You will play a key role in ensuring the center meets regulatory standards and supports the medical device and combination product portfolio.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and manage the project plan, including timelines, budgets, resources, and risks.
• Oversee the design and setup of laboratory spaces for microbiology and sterilization testing.
• Coordinate the purchase, installation, and qualification of lab equipment like isolators, incubators, and monitoring systems.
• Ensure testing methods are transferred and validated according to industry standards and regulations.
• Collaborate with various teams, including Quality, Engineering, Procurement, and HR, to ensure smooth operations.
• Prepare the facility for audits and inspections by regulatory bodies.
• Recruit and onboard technical staff for the CoE.
• Identify and address risks, issues, and changes to the project scope.

Key Skills and Requirements:

• Background in Microbiology, Biology, Biochemistry, Life Sciences, Engineering, or a related field.
• Experience managing projects in regulated industries such as medical devices, pharmaceuticals, or biologics.
• Familiarity with microbiology and sterilization testing processes, including bioburden, endotoxin, microbial identification, and sterility testing is a plus.
• Knowledge of regulatory standards like GMP, ISO 13485, and FDA 21 CFR Part 820.
• Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage budgets, vendors, and complex projects.
• Certification in project management (e.g., PMP or PRINCE2) is a plus.
• Experience with laboratory setup, method transfer, or sterility assurance is preferred.
