The situation 

Earlier this year, a Zurich-based biotech client approached us with an urgent need: hiring two Clinical Trial Managers to support their upcoming Phase III study. 

We had previously supported them with salary benchmarking and talent mapping across Switzerland, helping them plan for growth. But despite six weeks of internal advertising and outreach, they couldn’t find candidates with the right skills, location, or cultural fit. 

With study timelines approaching, the risk of delay was growing and they needed a solution fast. 

The solution 

We began by collaborating closely with their internal hiring team to define the ideal candidate profile both technically and culturally. This included specific experience relevant to the study and personality traits that would complement the existing team.

Within a short timeframe, we delivered a shortlist of five qualified candidates. We supported the interview process end-to-end, ensuring alignment and momentum throughout. 

The result 

Two candidates were offered and accepted roles, with R&D Partners managing reference checks and onboarding support. Both hires were based in Switzerland, saving the client relocation costs and enabling a seamless start. 

Thanks to this collaboration, the Phase III study launched on time with the right team in place. Since then, we’ve continued to support the client across multiple functions, successfully placing a Statistician, QA Manager (GCP), and Regulatory Director.
