R&D Partners is seeking a Project Engineer to support the execution of a portfolio of GMP facility upgrades and cleanroom construction project within a highly regulated pharmaceutical manufacturing environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for the delivery of all project elements including schedule, cost, scope, safety, quality, and regulatory compliance.

This role requires a technically strong engineer with hands-on experience in GMP environments who can operate both as a subject matter expert (SME) in cleanroom construction and GMP processes, and as a project manager capable of leading design, construction, commissioning, and qualification phases. Experience with aseptic processing environments, lyophilization systems, and FDA compliance projects is highly desirable.

Please note that to be considered for this role you must have the right to work in this location.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all project phases, ensuring they stay on schedule, within budget, and meet safety and quality standards.
  • Lead design and construction efforts, ensuring compliance with GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) and regulatory requirements.
  • Act as the go-to expert for cleanroom construction and GMP processes.
  • Manage contractors and ensure their work meets quality, safety, and compliance expectations.
  • Support cleanroom qualification activities, including testing and validation.
  • Ensure proper documentation and compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Quality Assurance and Manufacturing, to ensure project success.
  • Monitor project progress, address delays, and adjust plans as needed.
  • Maintain safety protocols and ensure all work is conducted in a safe manner.

Key Skills and Requirements:

  • Strong project management skills, including planning, budgeting, and risk management.
  • Hands-on experience with cleanroom construction and GMP facility upgrades.
  • Knowledge of cleanroom standards (ISO 14644, EU GMP Grades A-D) and contamination control strategies.
  • Familiarity with HVAC systems, pressure cascades, and environmental monitoring.
  • Experience with equipment and facility qualification processes.
  • Proficiency in MS Office tools and project management software.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Chemical, Process, or related field) or equivalent qualifications.
  • Experience in pharmaceutical or biotech GMP environments.
