Description

Drive growth and market access by building powerful NHS partnerships and delivering impactful pharmaceutical sales results across the North of the UK.

R&D Partners is seeking a Key Account Manager to join a leading pharmaceutical company. This role focuses on achieving sales targets, building sustainable relationships with key stakeholders, and driving market access initiatives across North of UK. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in pharmaceutical sales, excellent knowledge of NHS systems, and a proven ability to deliver results in both primary and secondary care settings.

Responsibilities:

  • Achieve sales budgets and business objectives by implementing strategies with specialist customers.
  • Promote a diverse product portfolio to maintain key accounts and develop partnerships with Integrated Care Boards, Medicines Optimisation Teams, NHS Trusts, Health Boards, and Healthcare Professionals (HCPs).
  • Secure commercially positive formulary listings, guidelines, and protocol changes in target accounts.
  • Drive market access projects, including service redesign and shared care guidelines.
  • Generate clinical demand for products and ensure successful implementation and pull-through of business plans.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with prescribers, influencers, and payors in both primary and secondary care.
  • Submit tenders at hospital and regional levels and evaluate renewals for financial impact.
  • Organize medical-pharmaceutical events, seminars, and speaker sessions within agreed budgets.
  • Ensure compliance with corporate, MHRA, and ABPI guidelines.

Key Skills and Requirements:

  • Education: Degree in Business, Pharmacy, or related fields.
  • Certification: ABPI accreditation certificate required.

Experience:

  • Minimum 3+ years of pharmaceutical experience in primary and secondary care.
  • Experience in neurology, endocrinology, ICU, or critical care is desirable.
  • Proven track record in product launches and market access initiatives.
  • Familiarity with SMC, NDC, NSS, Health Boards, ADTCs, and HIS.

Skills:

  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and spoken English.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Teams, Zoom).
  • Ability to build rapport and develop effective relationships with stakeholders.
  • Commercially astute with a customer-focused approach.

Other Requirements:

  • Clean driving license.
  • Willingness to travel extensively (4-5 days per week) and stay overnight as needed.
