Join a cutting‑edge med‑tech team as a hands‑on Software Test Engineer driving safer, smarter medical devices.

R&D Partners is seeking a Software Test Engineer to join a leading medical technology and devices company on an initial 6-month contract. This hands-on role focuses on running manual tests on simulators and machines, capturing results, and reporting defects through established quality systems. The position is onsite in Bishops Stortford, offering flexible start and finish times, with a strong likelihood of extension and potential for permanent placement.

Please note that to be considered for this role you must have the right to work in this location.

Responsibilities:

  • Execute manual tests on simulators and machines following defined procedures.
  • Operate equipment safely and accurately, ensuring compliance with test protocols.
  • Record findings, defects, and anomalies with precision and attention to detail.
  • Submit defect reports using JIRA and manage test documentation within JAMA.
  • Collaborate with engineering and quality teams to support product refinement.
  • Maintain high standards of documentation, communication, and workflow adherence.

Key Skills and Requirements:

  • Experience as a Test Technician, Test Engineer, or similar hands-on testing role.
  • Confidence operating simulators, machinery, or engineering test equipment.
  • Ability to follow structured test procedures and record results accurately.
  • Familiarity with defect reporting tools such as JIRA.
  • Experience with test management systems like JAMA (beneficial but not essential).
  • No prior experience with specific medical device classes required; full training provided.
