Senior Associate Device Engineer

R&D Partners is seeking a Senior Associate Device Engineer to join a leading biotech company in the UK for a 12-month contract. This role involves providing technical project support within the Device Engineering Sciences team, focusing on testing, analysis, and evaluation of novel drug delivery devices, components, and primary containers (e.g., syringes and cartridges). The ideal candidate will have expertise in risk assessment, experimental execution, and data-driven device development activities.

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to assess performance factors of drug delivery devices.
• Author, review, and manage design control documentation.
• Support design verification, manufacturing process qualification, and usability studies.
• Develop and validate test methods, experimental rigs, and setups.
• Conduct risk management assessments, including input to dFMEA and uFMEA.
• Analyze data using statistical tools to quantify device performance and identify controlling parameters.
• Operate laboratory equipment per SOPs and quality standards.
• Prepare scientific reports and ensure compliance with ISO 13485 documentation requirements.
• Manage data transcription, verification, and analysis of testing results.

Key Skills and Requirements:

Education:

• Degree, HND, or equivalent in a relevant Science or Engineering discipline.

Experience:

• Experience with device control systems, device testing, and analytical methodology.
• Knowledge of mechanical/electronic testing of drug delivery devices.
• Familiarity with design assessment, specification setting, and design verification.
• Previous experience in medical device or pharmaceutical industries.

Technical Skills:

• Proficiency in CAD software (preferably Creo) and engineering calculations (e.g., free body diagrams, beam bending).
• Understanding of GLP/GMP and laboratory safety protocols.
• Knowledge of FEA and statistical analysis tools.

Additional Requirements:
