Power the reliability behind life-saving pharmaceutical production as an Electrical & Instrumentation Technician in Belgium.

R&D Partners is seeking an experienced Electrical & Instrumentation (E&I) Technician to join the Clean Utilities Department of a leading pharmaceutical company in Belgium. This role focuses on ensuring the operational reliability and availability of electrical installations and instrumentation systems critical to production processes. The position offers a structured onboarding program and the opportunity to gradually integrate into the on-call duty system.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on electrical installations, control panels, motors, VFDs, and instrumentation.
  • Support production processes by efficiently addressing technical failures.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and technical optimization projects.
  • Strictly adhere to GMP, safety, and quality standards.
  • Execute calibration and validation activities for measuring instruments.
  • Document and report completed work activities, technical failures, and deviations.
  • Collaborate with production, quality, engineering teams, and external contractors.
  • Participate in daily and weekly operational meetings.

Key Skills and Requirements:

Technical Qualifications:

  • Secondary Technical Education (TSO diploma) in Electromechanics or equivalent; Associate/Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant experience as an E&I Technician, ideally in an industrial or pharmaceutical environment.
  • Expertise in low-voltage electrical installations, instrumentation, PLC systems (Siemens S7), and preventive/corrective maintenance.
  • BA5 certification (low-voltage electrical safety) and VCA certificate (Safety for Contractors) required.

Language Requirements:

  • Dutch: Fluent spoken and written (required).
  • English: Ability to read technical documentation (preferred).

Desired Competencies:

  • Proficiency in reading electrical diagrams and P&IDs.
  • Knowledge of variable frequency drives, motor control systems, and instrumentation protocols (e.g., 4-20mA, HART, Profibus).
  • Familiarity with CMMS systems and basic PLC programming.
  • Strong problem-solving mindset, attention to detail, and eagerness to learn.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills.

Employment Conditions:

  • Duration: Full-time contract.
  • Working Hours: Day shift (Monday-Friday); flexibility required for urgent interventions and planned shutdowns.
  • Onboarding: Structured program with technical training, safety instruction, and buddy system support.
  • On-call Duty: Gradual integration after onboarding period.
